I wanted to take a moment and wish all of you beautiful ladies a very Happy Mother's Day! I apologize for my absence here, my schedule has been hectic as of late.
I took the opportunity to post a poem that my Mother wrote for her Mother over 40 years ago....those feelings expressed in her words are still alive today.
I hope you enjoy today's post, and thank you for stopping by!
WELCOME!
This is a "first" for me, so I ask that you please bear with the initial set up and creation of this blog.....your patience and attendance here are appreciated!
This blog is intended as a personal project to share with you poems and daily quotations that were written by my mother. She was called "Home" in March of 2010, overtaken by lung cancer. I took on the task of opening her life through the treasures she left behind. In doing so, I came upon a box full of poetry that she had written over the years of my life, as well as her "daily quotes" that she would just jot down at a moment's notice.
My mother inspired my love for poetry from a young age, as well as assisting me in what I perceived as the challenge of writing my thoughts and feelings down on paper. From time to time you may notice a few of my own here, nestled gently in with hers.
I hope that you enjoy what you find here.....feel free to share them, for this is my gift to her and you; the pleasure, comfort and at times humor in the writings of another.
