My intention for today's postings was quite different than what you actually find here. I felt "guided" if you will, to post these selections and hope that you enjoy them. I cannot thank all of you enough for dropping in and having a look around.
I feel blessed with this purpose...this "labour" of sharing my mother's words with you here. These treasured verses on scrap pieces of paper have opened my eyes and heart, and offered me an intimate glimpse into the creative life of my mother.
WELCOME!
This is a "first" for me, so I ask that you please bear with the initial set up and creation of this blog.....your patience and attendance here are appreciated!
This blog is intended as a personal project to share with you poems and daily quotations that were written by my mother. She was called "Home" in March of 2010, overtaken by lung cancer. I took on the task of opening her life through the treasures she left behind. In doing so, I came upon a box full of poetry that she had written over the years of my life, as well as her "daily quotes" that she would just jot down at a moment's notice.
My mother inspired my love for poetry from a young age, as well as assisting me in what I perceived as the challenge of writing my thoughts and feelings down on paper. From time to time you may notice a few of my own here, nestled gently in with hers.
I hope that you enjoy what you find here.....feel free to share them, for this is my gift to her and you; the pleasure, comfort and at times humor in the writings of another.
