WELCOME!

This is a "first" for me, so I ask that you please bear with the initial set up and creation of this blog.....your patience and attendance here are appreciated!

This blog is intended as a personal project to share with you poems and daily quotations that were written by my mother. She was called "Home" in March of 2010, overtaken by lung cancer. I took on the task of opening her life through the treasures she left behind. In doing so, I came upon a box full of poetry that she had written over the years of my life, as well as her "daily quotes" that she would just jot down at a moment's notice.

My mother inspired my love for poetry from a young age, as well as assisting me in what I perceived as the challenge of writing my thoughts and feelings down on paper. From time to time you may notice a few of my own here, nestled gently in with hers.

I hope that you enjoy what you find here.....feel free to share them, for this is my gift to her and you; the pleasure, comfort and at times humor in the writings of another.

Next group of poems.....

My mother had a love inside of her for Yellowstone like no other.  She lived and worked there for several years, and always wanted to return to this land that claimed her heart.  It is with deep regret that she was never able to venture back to this part of the country, for her health did not permit her to do so.  Several of her writings are about her time there...what she experienced, her love for all of the natural beauty, wildlife, and the emotional impact on her soul.  I hope you enjoy these postings as I do, for they bring back cherished memories of a period in time when she was truly able to live, love and experience life's offerings to the fullest.
