WELCOME!

This is a "first" for me, so I ask that you please bear with the initial set up and creation of this blog.....your patience and attendance here are appreciated!

This blog is intended as a personal project to share with you poems and daily quotations that were written by my mother. She was called "Home" in March of 2010, overtaken by lung cancer. I took on the task of opening her life through the treasures she left behind. In doing so, I came upon a box full of poetry that she had written over the years of my life, as well as her "daily quotes" that she would just jot down at a moment's notice.

My mother inspired my love for poetry from a young age, as well as assisting me in what I perceived as the challenge of writing my thoughts and feelings down on paper. From time to time you may notice a few of my own here, nestled gently in with hers.

I hope that you enjoy what you find here.....feel free to share them, for this is my gift to her and you; the pleasure, comfort and at times humor in the writings of another.

TINY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

"It's time to mend your fences and make the roses grow again"

"Love is one of life's greatest miracles"

"The power of love can turn a country girl into a queen"

"To see yourself through others' eyes, you first must open yours"

"The miracle of morning is; watching as God gently moves the clouds aside
so He can hang the Sun"

"When molehills become mountains, get a longer rope"

"The reason an apple a day keeps the doctor away is because they no longer make house calls"
